How to

Add the widget

Bear Streak has Home Screen widgets in small and medium sizes, and Lock Screen widgets.

  1. Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
  2. Tap Edit, then Add Widget.
  3. Choose Bear Streak, pick a size, and tap Add Widget.

The Habit widget shows one habit. To pick which, touch and hold the widget, tap Edit Widget, and choose the habit under Choose Habit. The Today widget shows your first three habits.

Tap the circle next to a habit to tick it. Your streak updates on the spot.

Let Apple Health tick a habit
  1. In Bear Streak, open Settings, then Apple Health, and tap Allow Access.
  2. iOS shows its own Health sheet once. Turn on the data you want Bear Streak to read.
  3. Open the habit and tap Edit. Set Done when to Apple Health, then pick what to measure and the goal, for example Steps, at least 8,000.

If a habit does not tick, check that access is on in the iPhone Settings app, under Privacy & Security, then Health, then Bear Streak. You can also change access in the Health app.

Tick a habit with a Shortcuts automation

Bear Streak lists ready-made recipes in Settings, then Shortcuts. For example, to tick Gym when you arrive:

  1. In the Shortcuts app, create an automation that runs when you arrive at your gym.
  2. Make it run without asking.
  3. Add the action Mark Habit Done and pick Gym.

Menu names differ between iOS versions; the Shortcuts screen in Bear Streak shows the steps for your iPhone.

Use Siri

Say the habit name and the app name, for example:

  • "Mark Run done in Bear Streak"
  • "Did I do Run today in Bear Streak"
  • "What is my Run streak in Bear Streak"
Connect intervals.icu
  1. Open Settings, then intervals.icu.
  2. Enter your Athlete ID and API key, then tap Verify and Save.

The key stays in your iPhone Keychain and goes to the sync server only after you sign in. While you are signed out, the app reads your activities from intervals.icu on your iPhone, at most every 15 minutes while it is open. Once you sign in, the sync server checks for you, even while the app is closed.

Then open the habit, tap Edit, and set Done when to intervals.icu.

Webhooks and your own API

Open the habit, tap Edit, and pick one under Done when, in the More sources group. Webhooks need you to sign in with Apple. Your own API runs straight from your iPhone.

Back up and sync

Habits always live on your iPhone first, so the app and widget work offline. To back up your history, open Settings, tap Sign In at the top, and sign in with Apple.

Delete your account and data

Open Settings, tap your name or email at the top, then Delete Account. Your synced data is removed from the server, normally within 24 hours. Habits on your iPhone stay until you delete them or remove the app.
